Many ACAD Regapps? Purge at cmd line: And OEs

I know that on occasion custom objects being viewed via the OE will not work if there is much dwg corruption.

Do you suppose that OE could foul with only Regapps that need purged?

I'm talking upwards of 50,000?

And... once they are purged and believe the drawing is in good health... what would cause them to return? Deeply nested objects or from XRefs. Do Regapps transfer to the host dwg through overlaid/attached Xrefs?

Yes to the latter. Unload and XREF, purge REGAPPs, reload and blammo -they're back. Insert a block? Same thing. You need to clean *all* your content. That includes block libraries, XREFs, DWGs from outside sources. Think of it like getting rid of the EDU stamp infection, or rogue annotation scales.

It shouldn't go the other way though - an affected host drawing shouldn't push REGAPPs to any XREFs.
