    <description>&lt;P&gt;When I try to use the command&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;Dim lsManager As LayerStateManager = sideDb.LayerStateManager

Dim lsLayers As ArrayList =
            lsManager.GetLayerStateLayers(lsName.StringResult, False)

                    Dim ly As String = ""

                    For Each layer As String In lsLayers
                        ly = ly + " , " + layer

                    Next

                    ed.WriteMessage(vbNewLine + "Layer = " + ly)&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;P&gt;I can get and print out the layers...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But it works only in some files... other files show this error:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;unhandled access violation reading 0x0000 exception at 504e426ch&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What could happen?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Maybe lsLayers is NULL?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;BTW, for .Net questions, this is the correct forum:&lt;/P&gt;
