How to open AutoCAD if Auto Mechanical too is installed

Do any body know how to do the following task. I have installed Autodesk Mechanical 2004. With autodesk mechanical 2004, AutoCAD 2004 too is installed. I need to work with AutoCAD 2004 only and not the AutoCAD mechanical. If the AutoCAD is not opened then I am opening it using COM API. But if the user at the current machine has opened Mechanical 2004 at last time, the API opens the autocad mechanical 2004 instead of opening AutoCAD 2004. So do any body know how to open the AutoCAD in this situation.

Also if there is a running instance of AutoCAD/Mechanical 2004, I would need to know programatically that whether the running instance is of AutoCAD or Mechanical 2004. If the running instance is of Mechanical 2004 then I will need to open the AutoCAD 2004. I am using C++ com.

I gone through the profile and found that AutoCAD uses the last profile used to open the application. But How I will know whch profile has been used last time and if it is for Mechanical then change it to AutoCAD. I tried to search my registry for the profile storage, so that I can change it as per my requirement before opening the AutoCAD. But No success.

So can you help me in this direction.
