We have subcontracted a drawing tool. They developed it using ILOG libraries and XML. Drawing files are xml files that contains the graphic information and other data.

In the other hand we have a similar tool developed by us with AutoCAD using ARX.

The question is if there is any possible conversion from and XML file to a dwg file?

Unless the XML file conforms to one of the schemas
that are supported by verticals like MAP (e.g., LandXML),
or something like that, the answer is no.

If you have custom developed software, then that
is precisely what you will need to transform your
own proprietary XML into a .DWG file, and so you
must implement it in custom software.

You can't expect any XML interpreter to understand
your own XML schema, that's the nature of the beast
(e.g., "EXtensible Markup Language"), where the
"Extensible" means you develop your own software
to not only write it, but also read it.
Tony, thank you for the answer.
The problem is that I don´t know the XML language and how it works and manage the data.
I also don´t know what the verticals are, but I suppose it is not possible to do it, or is too ambitious.

Hi;

If the option is to use other software, try FME. (He can turn cooking recipes into dwg :))

We've recently subcontracted a drawing tool development project that utilizes ILOG libraries and XML. The drawing files generated by this tool are in XML format and contain both graphic information and additional data. On the other hand, we have our own drawing tool developed in AutoCAD using ARX. Now, we're wondering if there's a feasible way to convert these XML files into DWG (AutoCAD) files. This conversion would be incredibly helpful as it would allow us to work seamlessly with the drawings created by the subcontracted tool within our AutoCAD environment.
