Thank you very much Michael for the quick reply.
It's about the mesh at Netfabb local simulation. There, unfortunately, the mesh is always square and not changeable. I would like to have the mesh like in Netfabb (triangular), so that the pyramids can also be seen. It is only about seeing the simulation precisely and not roughly.

I have also attached the pictures.

netfabb local simulation meshnetfabb local simulation Partnetfabb mesh

Best regards

Suleiman

Dear all,

since it is my first time using Netfabb, I would love to get some help with a part that I have created. The steps in Netfabb were self-evident, but in the simulation I can't see the the whole Part and the support structures so clearly. With refinement of the mesh it gets better, but still not optimal. I just want to prepare my part with the support structure for 3d printing and would very much appreciate some help.

Thanks in advance.

BR

Re: Netfabb local simulation

Suleiman,

Thank you for the figures and the explanation of your needs, that clarifies the issue perfectly. Netfabb Local Simulation only employees a rectilinear Voxel element style, so we cannot mesh the triangles exactly as designed. To get a better representation using the voxel mesh decrease the number of layers per element, or if using the 'wall thickness' method, halve or quarter your existing value. This will extend the simulation time and RAM usage, but you will get a more geometrically representative mesh.

An additional recommendation I will make is to homogenize your support structures. It looks like you are trying to mesh a zero thickness STL for the supports directly. You will get good results without adding a large number of elements using one of the methods detailed here. If mesh homogenization does not appeal to you, then I would suggest adding some thickness to the STL so as to improve it's meshing, and using the support wall thickness as the 'minimum wall thickness' in the mesh settings.

Regards,

Michael
