Hello, @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Netfabb Forum!

Given that multiple software products appear to notice something being wrong with the file, is this happening with all your files? If not, is there anything unique to those affected, such as size, complexity, method or location of storing or transmitting?

Best regards,

I try to import files (3D Body Scans including textures) in WRL-Format, and get the error message "Error loading file. List index (8388515) out of bounds". Get an error message too when loading that file into the software which drives our 3D-Printer (Mimaki 3D Link).

The only software which successful loads that files is Magics (I have a demo), but it looks like that it restarts the import automatically to correct something with the file.

Netfabb Standard 2020.0, Build 1956.

Thank you for your welcome, and your quick answer.

It happens with all files of one customer. I have asked him, and he told me that Meshlab imports the files without problems. I have tried it myself, and it really does. If exporting the files out of Meshlab as OBJ, they will be imported into Netfabb without problems including textures. Exporting as WRL will work too, but without textures so far as I have tested.

We resell a 3D-Printer, and Netfabb does a good job most of the time. There are only this selection of files (sorry I can´t upload them because they are customer files). I know this will be hard to solve, but I have a workaround.

Thank you for the clarification.

For further investigation, perhaps suggest to the customer the creation of a file from a non-sensitive object which could then be shared. It's quite possible that their method of writing is not bug-free or non-standard in some way or another, so they should also consult with the manufacturer of whichever device they use to do the scanning.
