Frank means that if you meant running Acad at web server end (I also thought
that was what you meant). If so, automating Acad on an unattended server is
not desireable and it is certain there are quite some difficulties, even
though it is possible. Also, it may be agianst Acad lisencing policy (I am
not very sure here).
I was wondering if you I could create an ASP.NET application to run on my WEB site that would be able to send VBA commands to AutoCAD 2000?
I have written numerous apps in Access '97 and 2000 and VB6 that work great. Will these work the same way if I convert them?

The security will require a lot more tweaking but it should be possible.
No I just want to allow people to use my Barcode program which I would have as an ASPX on my WEB site. The clients would have AutoCAD and be able to add barcodes to their drawings. They need AutoCAD which they bought already. My WEB site will not have AutoCAD.
here is the current version which is LISP & DCL
If you can create and script local ActiveX objects from
your ASP.NET web page, then you can control AutoCAD
that way. That's not sending 'VBA Commands' to do it,
its just using the same ActiveX interface that VBA uses.
The problem will be on your end. ASP.NET does it's very best to keep
your web clients in a secure environment. Allowing them to spawn and
control external processes is going to require some configuration as
this is not allowed by default.

Other than letting you know you're in for some studying, there's not
much I can do to help as .NET security is not something I've taken the
time to become familiar with.
This is a one-way street, My app is controlling their AutoCAD.
They aren't doing anything in AutoCAD that needs to come back to me. Does that make a difference or not?

I read your reply Tony and I'm not sure how to do that ?

"create and script local ActiveX objects from

Is that instead of "Run At Server" ??

Sorry, don't understand.

Is AutoCAD on the server or on the client?

If its on the client, then you need the appropriate
security settings to permit it.
