Dim myBlockRef_Extents As Extents3d = myBlockRef.Bounds&lt;BR /&gt;

this returns the "bounding box" (bounds) of the block reference..  basically &lt;BR /&gt;
a imaginary rectangle that encloses all the data of the block.&lt;BR /&gt;
