topic Wrong DLL Versions for 2010 Showing in VS in .NET Forum

Hi,

I'm using Civil 3D 2010 and I have noticed that when I create a new project in Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 and I reference acdbmgd.dll and acmgd.dll that Visual Studio shows the version number as 18.0.0.0. I have attached a jpg showing the version number in Visual Studio.

When I look at the file itself in explorer it tells me the version is 18.0.55.0.

This version mismatch is causing problems with my licensing software I use to protect my applications as it is looking for acdbmgd.dll and acmgd.dll version 18.0.0.0 which of course doesn't actually exists, except in visual studio.

Can someone else confirm they are getting the same thing?

Is this a bug in Visual Studio or Autocad?

The exact version number can vary depending on things like installed service
packs, so you can't really assume a specific version number in any case.
That's not a bug.

If your licensing software is looking for a specific version number, the
problem is there. It can't do that if you want to deploy on any target
system.
