There is http://freewheel.autodesk.com/ which is just for viewing and printing.

It may be possible using the http://www.opendesign.com/

Dear All,

I am wondering is it possible to do such thing? if so is there any links for me to study?
Currently I got this project to build a web application and from the web automate the Autocad drawing.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
I tried once to no avail. I forget what the exact complication was. It could probably be done, but rather than waste time beating the problem to death, I created a web service. Speaking broadly, I used a web application to get information about what actions needed to be performed. I then created a Windows Forms app that controlled AutoCAD through COM (though not the best way), and queried the web service from the Windows app to retrieve the info.

This might seem like a long way around the bush, but IMO it makes more sense because you don't need to run AutoCAD on your web server.

Autocad does not license Autocad to run on a server.
That being said it could be done,
By using another API to modify a drawing directly will allow you to have more control and not be limited by AutoCAD being busy.
