This is not a code related question, but possibly the best place to ask.

Could I get some suggestions on commercially distributing an application?

Autodesk's Appstore would be ideal, but the apps on it seem quite simple, such as selling dynamic blocks.

Most applications (including AutoCAD) operate on an annual subscription model.

Does anyone have experience with obfuscated app distribution?

#2 do you have a website ready for software commerce?

#3 How will you control license usage once you make a sale?

The Autodesk AppStore has presence and is considered by the majority of it's visitors to be a 'safe and reliable' purchase location, much like all device/software developer app stores feel to the average consumer of apps.

Some other good questions.

#1 The AppStore would certainly help with marketing, but can you obfuscate the code? And does it allow for subscriptions? I'm guessing that my app would be easily copied and cracked if I used it.

#2 I don't have a website ready for software commerce. Someone let me know if that's what I need.

#3 At the moment I use HASP keys, but most programs, streaming & media services nowadays have a subscription model.

Hoping someone can point me in a direction.

If you go to the appstore, there is a link to Publisher Guide in the upper right. It has a section on the Entitlement API, which you can use to verify that your subscriber is entitled to use the software.
