topic 2018 .Net Wizard Error in .NET Forum

I am new to .Net programming and just started to work at

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/my-first-autocad-plug-overview.html.

I found this link for installing AutoCAD 2018 .Net wizards at

https://github.com/ADN-DevTech/AutoCAD-Net-Wizards/blob/205be75302209641512355e4c11778465b34497d/AutoCADNetWizardsInstaller/AutoCAD_2018_dotnet_wizards.zip

But when I try to install the wizards I get following error

I am using AutoCAD 2018 and Visual Studio 2017. Does this mean I can only work with VS2015? and if so how can I install it?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The wizards check for a specific version of VS, so its a problem if you upgrade because they don't update the wizards. However, you can easily make your own templates following this tutorial.

Thank you!1 I will give it a go. Meanwhile the IT guys at my work are making a big fuss about .scr files. Is it really such a big security threat to allow users access to scr files? I am trying my bext to convince them but is there an alternative way of doing this tutorial without the .scr file?

If IT lets you be a developer and use VS, then they need to allow you some extra privileges over regular users. Do they think you're going to write a virus?

There are other ways around using a scr. When you start debugging, VS will start AutoCAD. The scr is there just to netload your dll. Personally, I have all my company code in one dll with an associated palette tab in a cuix. I use the menu's mnl file to netload my dll under normal conditions. When I'm debugging, I comment out that line and add one that points to the bin\Debug folder. When I'm done debugging, I fix my mnl.
