topic Handle behavior in Save As and just Window Copy and Paste in .NET Forum

I'm referring to Handle property for Autodesk object. From what I know it's unique within the drawing, and it persists across sessions ( meaning when you close and reopen the same drawing, the same object will have the same Handle).

But what if I copy the drawing ( let's call it Drawing.dwg) to another machine ( let's call it Drawing2.dwg), will the object in Drawing.dwg have the same Handle as the equivalent one in Drawing2.dwg? And what if I Save As the original Drawing ( let's call it DrawingSaveAs.dwg), will the object in Drawing.dwg have the same Handle as the equivalent one in DrawingSaveAs.dwg?

Hi,

They should remain the same. You can easily try it by yourself.
