How to make a selection prompt like ERASE command

In erase command. I realise, when i select a set of objects. It not highlighted. Instead it fade the selected objects i choose. How can i make a select prompt like that?

There could be different ways to do it. But simplest way would be using HighlightOverrule. Here is a post I wrote almost 15 years ago that show how to do similar as you described (I just changed the color of the highlighted entity. Obviously, you can also change the entity's Transparency as well):

Does it work well when i just hover mouse around entity?. Cause i just know now, in erase mode for command erase, my mouse not even selected objects yet, just hover it and it change color ( fade) already
