Hello all. I am having some trouble with Navisworks 2018,19 Manage and Simulate. When modeling AutoCAD solids in Plant3D, and using Navisworks for coordination, I am having objects move to random locations, stretch, or not move at all. Some times it looks like it was exploded into a bunch of pieces. In the image I attached the green frame was shifted to the right to fit the tank. Instead, what you see is Navisworks just stretched it over rather than moving it, and some pieces moved and some did not. This issue seems to be local to the machine because when saved and viewed on another machine, the Navisworks model shows the frame correct (right image). Its worth noting, I have the object enabler installed.

Hi,

Are you using "Bentley Prostructure" ?

I use Autocad 2015 with "Bentley Prostructure" to draw my steel structures.

When the "Prostructure" application is loaded and I do changes on some other parts that are Autocad 3D-solids I also have this same problem.

When I have that problem I close the dwg and re-open it without loading the "Prostructure" application.

If I do changes on these 3D-solids and I refresh in Navisworks there is no problem.

But I don't now the cause of that... because sometimes he does it and sometimes he does not.

Sometimes it helps to do a REGENALL in Autocad.

After that you will see that these components are not all moved and it will be the same as you see inNavisworks.

So I don't think it's a Navisworks problem...

greatings

Johan,

I am not familiar with Bentley Prostructure. That is interesting what you're saying about it being on the Autocad side rather than the Navisworks side. I will try the regenall command next time and see if it reflects it in my Autocad. I was hoping this issue would be resolved in 2019, but it obviously.

Should be, yes. This is the file name I installed. (AutoCAD_Plant_3D_2018_Object_Enabler_v1_English_Win_64bit_dlm.sfx) Not sure if there are different revisions or updates to this. Is there a way to check what object enabler is being used?

I am using 2018 OBJ EN ver.22.0.49.0

As for 2019 I am not using it on my machine yet because it causes problems with 2018 pipe properties (issue for another day). However, I have another computer that is using 2019 with the OBJ EN ver. 23.0.46.0

Just to clarify, it is just one computer with a specific version (either 2018 or 2019) of Navisworks that is having this issue?

As a test have you tried recreating the NWF file and the associated NWC files with each version of Navisworks to see if the problem might be happening as you switch between versions? I know that 2018 and 2019 are supposed to be interchangeable, but ...
