Inventor Materials in Navisworks

Hello there,

I´ve not been around for long but as I need to combine`*.wrl files and Inventor files I moved to Navisworks,

so I will basically ask newbie questions 😉

Importing the *.wrl works almost perfect even though some formerly textured elements don´t have any textu-

res any more. I´m happy with the speed of the import too.

When importing *.iam files it´s the other way around mostly. The textures are displayed right but some appea-

rances are lost. Also the orientation is different from the *.wrl´s. Could you help me out?

I hope I´m not bothering you to much...

There are some point I need to add to clarify the current state...

Custom Materials in Inventor files seem to work, at least the custom textures do.

All system appearances are lost upon inport.

When I try to render the scene memory usage goes up to 15.7 GB - is that normal

behaviour. I fear I might run out of memory when handling even larger assemblies.

Is there a way to insert the files I need to combine oriented to Navisworks floor?

Can I choose to not import the floor of a Factory layout too?

I tried to render the file and Navisworks tells me that not enough

system ram is installed. It´s 24GB already... we will expand to 32

but basically I´m done right now.

Is there a way to save memory?
