Its been awhile since I've done/seen this, so bear with me. It might not answer/solve your problem, but hopefully get you in the right direction. Linking only works if the Quant. Workbooks are an exact match.

Name the search sets in Navisworks with the same WBS codes as the items in the Quantification workbook.

In the Quantification workbook, create a custom property called "WBS Code" and enter the WBS codes for each item.

In Navisworks, go to the Quantification window and click on the "Edit Properties" button.

In the "Edit Properties" window, click on the "Add" button to add a new property mapping.

In the "Add Property Mapping" window, select "Search Set Name" as the source property and "WBS Code" as the target property.

Click on the "OK" button to save the property mapping.

Now, when you run a quantification report, Navisworks will automatically link the search sets to their respective WBS items based on the matching WBS codes.

How do I automatically link search sets to items in the Quantification workbook?

Suppose I name the search sets with the WBS codes of the items in Quantification workbook. Then how do I automatically link the search set with its respective WBS item?

This feature is a must. It should have been implemented years ago. There needs to be a dynamic link between search sets and quantification workbook.

Or are you referring to the Quantification Catalog xml file?

- by "create a custom property" do you mean a custom Global property mapping, by clicking on the "Property mapping" button in the Item Catalog? Otherwise I can't find the option to create custom properties. And so on...

Thank you in advance!
