Can't Find Schema File when importing .XML

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue with Navisworks Manage 2016. We ran a Clash report on a building and exported the results as an xml format. I would like to import these results into another model(.nwd). The new model is exactly the same as the old one except we had added meaningful names into the Selection tree.

When importing the xml file I receive an error message:

"Cannnot find schema file ()"

"c:\clashreports\test.xml"

"import failed"

I generated the report by pressing the Write report button. There is also a secondary option in clash detective "import clash reports/export clash reports".

I tried the export clash reports and it only generated a 1KB file within a few seconds, where as the write reports feature generated a 2000KB file within 5 minutes.

I cannot import either report. It seems like a simple enough process. Am I missing something?

The XML report export isn't intended to import in Navisworks. It is a data-only report that can be easily consumed by another application e.g. you could use a custom plug-in to the design software to read clash locations from that XML file.

You cannot "import" clash results into another model. You can export clash *settings* to import into another model in order to run the same tests. The closest you can get to exporting/importing actual clashes is to create saved viewpoints from the clashes in the original model, export the viewpoints to XML, then import the viewpoints in the other model. Note that you can import saved viewpoints XML files in Simulate as well as Manage.
