Hello,

Reading your post, I cannot determine what way you are using to convert and what options you are talking about because there are two ways:

1) Using a Navisworks to open the Revit file directly. In that case, only the options of Navisworks are involved

2) Using the Navisworks Exporter to create an NWC (or NWD) directly from within Revit , and then combining these files in a Navisworks to have.

In his case, the Navisworks Exporter has it own options (command: NWOPT) and both options are involved.

Greetings! Had anyone experienced this problem? We are trying to use Batch utility to create NWD out of a bunch of Revit Models and save the output one Navisworks file for each RVT Model. And it works. The problem though, is the default 3D View without any visibility overrides or hide / reset setting in a Revit View is not exported. If a section box is applied in {3D} View, Navisworks only exports the visible elements inside the box. I tried one file and the Navisworks Export settings is set to export the "Entire Project" Which setting can I use to export the whole model? Am I missing something here? Also, instead of NWD can one choose NWC as batch export format? Thanks for trying to help!

Hello @Anonymous,

In the Options dialog in Navisworks, you selected the Entire project in the Convert option.

Why not selecting the Navisworks View and create a Navisworks view in Revit and turn everything on in that view.

And about the NWD vs NWC file.

When selecting the NWF file as your output file Navisworks will convert all then convert all the files to NWC files.

Hello @Anonymous,

Here is a Video where I show you how Revit and Navisworks work together using the Batch Utility in Navisworks.

first I creates a 3D view with the name Navisworks in my Revit models.

In the Video you see that I hide elements in this Navisworks view so you will see the results in Navisworks.

In you case I would turn everything on and turn of section boxes and scope boxes.

As you can see in the picture below I set the Convert setting in the File Reader options for Revit to "Navisworks view" .

With the batch utility in Navisworks I created a setup for the batch and can start that automatic every day, week or ....

I did not use that in this video.

for this feature please see: "To Schedule Conversion of Multiple Design Files into Individual NWD Files"

You see that I select the NWF format as my export.

So when opening the NWF file when I like Navisworks will check if the native files that are append are changed and convert them when appending.

Hope this video will help you a bit further.
