API save/export a model/geometry as defined by a Section Box Viewpoint

My "ideal" goal is to use the API to export/save an NWD that is just the component parts as defined by a Section Box viewpoint.

In the .Net API I can successfully get the section box, and probably the items in the box, but I cannot find any method to export/save the selected items as geometry such as another NWD, FBX, OBJ, etc.

Here is what I have searched:
- current API & GUI exporting saves the whole model, not the current viewed items
- This link says the GUI will be able to export all but hidden items, but will not be available in NW 2026
- There are 3rd party tools that can do this, I would like to do it with the API.

I know the fbx exporter plugin in the API only exports visible items, I wish this was the same for NWD. I actually have tried some what extensively to export NWDs with the API that consisted of a selection a model items to no success. I have seen this feature in iConstruct so I know its possible. I suspect products as such get consulting services from Autodesk but this information seems otherwise hard to find. I'll continue looking into this and see what I can find.

I also hope to be able to dedicate time to this topic.

One option would be to use nwCreate to recreate more or less all shown items but this would need lot of code and handling all cases if possible.
