Running -ExecuteAddInPlugin AutoAppearanceLoader.Navisworks which works, thx

However if the appearance.dat has items in there then it has an error, i was wanting to use a project general appearance.dat which covers all the settings, not have to create one if a model doesnt have all the search items. Can the profiler ignore items that dont exist?

Hi @Trevor.WickhamR8SRR ,

As far as I know, the profiler will ignore items that don't exist.

Did you test it in Navisworks UI(Without using API)?

What did you observe in UI and what result did you get in UI?

I don't understand this line
"if the appearance.dat has items in there then it has an error"

Could you please explain your issue in detail with screenshots?

FYI, it is always better to research and find the optimal manual approach to a solution first, before attacking the task programmatically.

Hi, thanks for the response. The profiler loads, the error occurs when it runs

The first 4 items are in the project overall model but dont exist within this model. In the Calibre tab there is no "Specification" to be found. Cant the profiler ignore objects that dont exist when applying the appearance settings?

This looks like we are asking for a functional change in Navisworks here, So I am not sure whether it has any solution or not.
I am checking with other Navisworks Experts on this issue.
I will come back to you if I get an answer from them.

Hi, thanks for chasing up, tried a different approach, i built a plugin that called the new "AutoAppearanceLoader.Navisworks" with -nogui as a startup and it ignores the missing items that the profiler searches for.

Solved
