I used 3d tetra mesh for insight model. How can I see Frozen layer percentage, part (top) result ? I only see Frozen layer fraction, but can not see Frozen layer percentage, part (top).

The entire section is red (100%).
Can you help ?
Thanks a lot,
Joe

[cid:image001.png@01D439F6.F0E9CFE0]
[cid:image002.png@01D439F7.8999CB50]

I used dual domain mesh to run the model again. But I can't see the change of frozen layer percentage, part (top). It shows 100% at the circled area. What is wrong ?

Hi,

The 'Frozen layer percentage, part (top)' is a Cooling result, which is a simplified view on this. I think you may be looking for a different result though. I suggest you look at the Flow result: "Time to reach ejection temperature" (noting ejection temperature is NOT the same as transition temperature, but it will get you quite close). The

There are a few other ways to look at the result in the flow results: "

Frozen layer fraction', or

look at the temperature result.

But go to Plot Properites, specify a 'single contour' and use the transition temperature (out of the material data) as the contour value. When you animate this. If you need this as a more time steps for more resolution in the animation you may have to re-run this with more intermediate results (http://help.autodesk.com/view/MFIA/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-026E5980-A9A6-459D-86CF-E7FD02D49D2D)

Hello,

You can use the temperature plot to see the frozen layer at top and bottom of part.

For this you have to scale the plot above the freeze temperature of the material and play the result through time.

At the time where you start to see the glass model, your surface start to freeze i.e. it's temperature goes below the freeze temperature.

How to scale plot :

1. Open the properties of temperature plot.

2. Go to scaling tab and select specified option.

3. Enter the freeze temperature value in "Min" column.

4. Uncheck the extended color dialog box.

Regards,

Krishnakant Garg

@Anonymous wrote:
Hello,
I want to see same frozen layer percentage, part (top) or (bottom) result plot as showing in moldflow online help menu.
