how to know material ID in user material database

I want to analyze with API using materials in user material database (Number of materials about 200).
However, in order to analyze in API, it is necessary to know the material ID in advance.
Could you tell me how to know material ID in user material database or how to select material without using material ID.

The following method is written, but it takes time because there are many materials.

Material index in the database that uniquely identifies this material; the easiest way to ascertain the material index is to record a macro that selects the material from the database.

Please tell me if you know something.

Hi,

I do understand the issue you have.

The personal material data is getting an ID, material index, but how and when it is assigned the ID is not clear or documented.

Hence no other way, then what you describe, and from Synergy API Reference:

"material index in the database that uniquely identifies this material; the easiest way to ascertain the material index is to record a macro that selects the material from the database".

This is a tedious and extensive work when many materials.

Would be good to have a function in API to easier get this material index.

After all, there is only one way to use macro recording.
