Import 3D sketch

I've asked in Fusion360 (where I'm exporting the 3D sketch as .DXF) but they couldn't help much. I'm trying to export the center lines of a cooling channel as .DXF (I think is the only way in F360) but when I'm importing it to Moldflow the position of the lines is not the correct one. I've attached the Cooling channel, center lines and a .f3d file.

Maybe an IGS file will work?

It is not working, the IGES file looks empty. It looks like the center lines go to (0,0) when in MF.

Hello @l.oliveiraH37PZ ,

Here is a script that you can add to Fusion to help you export the lines as IGES curves. If you extract the attached Export Lines folder to :\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\Scripts , it should appear in your My Scripts.

Hi,

check IGES file in text editor, that it has a valid entity as described:

Importing IGES model files

Sometimes you need to check settings for sketch when exporting, but not sure how that applies in Fusion.

Maybe the script Mason provided is a good workaround.

Or export cooling channels as 3D, and use Curves - Center line to create lines in Synergy.

I've tried the Script and opened it in Notepad. I've attached a snipset. Although I can't now open the IGES on Fusion, it appears empty. I will try in Moldflow that is my objective.

Hi,

thank you for the update.

The picture shows file contains

IGES entity:
Line 110
Circular Arc 100

It should work to import to Synergy.

I tested a 3D sketch from Inventor, saved to iges, that had iges entity 110 (line), and it imported fine to Synergy.
