Inspector wants to delete whole parts

Hi. I'm bloody new to this. I have a large mesh: a with blender joined collection of meshes. Now I want to prepare it for printing. But the inspector of Meshmixer wants to delete whole objects like the example attached. It is no island. Indeed I moved the barrel a little bit into the floor to be sure. The latern in the background is dark violet. I don't know why, but the inspector wants to delete it, too - because of beeing an island.

Can someone explain this phenomen, please?

I confess I have no idea what "thresh" is. But with a "Small Thresh" of 0.00mm there are no more deletions.

Inspector will delete small shells (islands) based on a minimum size threshold:

I find Window's "3D builder's" automated mesh repair works better.

Would you consider to attach the file in question, in order to better determine the failure points? If this was constructed in Blender, the failure aspects could be many. A file to examine will allow others to examine those points and provide perhaps a direct original model solution.

Here is a smaler part of the whole mesh where the errors occure, too.

I hope, you can find the problem that I can learn and correct the whole mesh. It would be so cool to print this monster!

I was hoping for the STL file, as I'm not particularly qualified to use Blender. When I opened the .blend file, I was presented with a blank grid and ended up lost from that point onward! If you've opened the scene in Meshmixer as the photo shows, you have an STL file to send on?

To answer the other question, your link is likely correct. It has a repair facility for "damaged" STL files, but it can also destroy them in the same manner as Meshmixer.

on my first attempt to fix the file, I used Windows 3DBuilder and the result is attached. It seemed to take forever, but that's likely because this is a high-poly-count model. The result passes the Inspector test in Meshmixer. As I am a lazy sort, I did not attempt to determine the failure mode.

Very thank you two! 3D Builder solved all problems and the waiting time was more okay than I thought! The Meshmixer-result: Only one minor error.

Now I'm very excited for the print! Thank your again and have a nice week!

It's curious that you got an error. My result passed Inspector with zero errors, but your has a single. Glad it worked for you.

It seems that MS has pulled this from their Microsoft store. Any suggestions on how to install an older version? Or suggestions on other mesh repairing tools?

That sucks, 3D builder had the best autorepair of any software I've ever seen. Like magic.

Of course my two favourite 3D modeling softwares (MM and 3D builder) are both abandoned, same goes for my favourite screen recording software (Captura).

I have the touch of death...

I was going to see if I could rip the install file/exe for 3D builder, but its non-existent on my computer. All very strange.
