1) The exact thickness is whatever you set the offset to be. Or you can run Analysis>Thickness to find any thin spots.

2) Use the sculpt tool robust smooth brush

3) Start with a bigger/longer source piece, then do the offset and plane cut the rest up. OR Select the bottom rim and transform to pull it to the shape you want, then offset.

Hi ,

I am trying to get create a shell from a model of ear impresson ( attached right ear - 047049-80 AA_R) . The shell thickness must be 1.5 mm . I have been able to plane cut , smoothen and modify the surface as needed (attached - soundlink-left). However, I am ready struggling with creating of the shell . I tried to Use Hollow and then separate shells but get an error , no multiple shells found.

Would really appreciate some suggestions on what can be the right workflow for the creating a shell for the model attached.

The overall objective is that we will then print the shell and the electronics for a In the Ear hearing aid.

Thank you in advance

Mansi

I think you want to use select>edit>offset (-1.5mm).

Watch: https://autode.sk/3K7zAs5

Thank you very much. That really helped speed up the process

The steps are followed are

1. Select the base and then Discard it (Select - > Edit - > Discard)

2. Then select>edit>offset (-1.5mm). I also checked Connected . I actually decided to go less than 1.5mm as it looked a bit odd

3. Then remeshed (Select -> Edit -> Remesh)

Attached is the modified model

I still need some help with a few things. Would really appreciate your help here

1. How do I find out the exact thickess of the model

2. I tried to smoothen and remesh the edge but it still not as good as I would like it to be. Any suggestions

3. What is the best way to extend the edge by 1mm

Thanks again

Mansi
