One can kill any system by an overload. CPU as well as RAM as well as GPU(just to mention a few).

Be aware: Processing meshes needs some muscles. There might be millions of vertices to be transformed, millions of edges and faces to be split...

There are "simple" tasks as well as advanced operations in MM.

So: What's the weight of the mesh(es) you try to process? Which processes (i.e. which pattern mode) do you run in MM?

Many processes may be performed much easier if one does this or that before. Some processes on a specific source, as making a pattern based on tris with a tube diameter bigger than the tris, will give nothing but garbage...

Try simple stuff on the intended workflow before waisting energy on overkills.

Please explain what you're trying to get from a specific source.

hello I'm doing a pattern modeling in Meshmixer.

i have an iMac 27inch late 2017

3.4ghz i5 18go of ram and a radeon pro 570 (4Go)

most of the cases Meshmixer is using 100% of the cpu so it is very slow, closes suddenly and graphically very bad model.

how could I solve this problem ?

thank you.

this is exactly what I'm trying to do.

the machine is freezing when reducing brush 9.20min but still working after few seconds.

but when trying to do the pattern just like him in 11.50min when changing from tiled tubes to dual edges, i have to wait for few of minutes to get the pattern.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh5jKgsEQak.

thank you again.

Most probably freezing while using the SCULPT reduce brush is caused by the memory load needed for the Undo history. Undo saves each stroke you do.

So you might avoid freezing clearing this history on certain points of your work via menu:Actions/DiscardUndoHistory

or reduce

MaxUndoMemorySize=262144000

in meshmixer.ini

The video you linked to creates the pattern on the outer as well as on the inner surface of the object. Think that's wasted energy. Maybe it's enough to create the pattern on a single sided shell only? Means you'll need half of computation time:
