Good evening,

when i import a 15 Mo stl file in MM, i do "extrude" and i save the file (.mix); it becomes a 60 Mo file. can you tell me why ? and what are the settings i must modify to keep file size near the size of original file ?

Thanks for help

Doing an extrusion MM adds faces on the extrusion's "side surface". At default settings: the farer you extrude the more faces are added. The density of faces there is controlled by the tool's Density slider. Density at zero gives a minimal amount of added triangles.

Compared to STL (which is just a bunch of triangles) a MIX file saves more data (e.g. a welded surface of triangles, PerVertexColor and Facegroups)
