Can you load a default object from the splash screen (e.g. the bunny) - these are .obj files as well.

If yes:

Is your .obj a mesh or only a point cloud? MM accepts only meshes. You might check this opening the file in a text editor and search if there are lines starting with "f". In case of just point coordinates you would need to build a mesh in some third party app (e.g. Meshlab).

If you are sure that it's a mesh:

what's its file size?

does it come with per vertex color?

what are the specs of your system?

what exactly happens when you try to load it to MM?

Thank you for the response. Turns out its as simple as the .obj file being a point cloud and not a mesh.
