I'm trying to modify an object for easier 3D printing and need to get rid of a bunch of unnecessary texture. I have a square building with a textured interior. I will never see the inside so there's no reason to waste time and filament printing it. How would I make the interior walls just flat, in addition to removing the floor? I'm not sure the most efficient way to do it. Just plane cut all the texture off?

Once I've deleted the face groups, I'm left with most of the interior of the shell missing, and inspector doesn't fix that. Maybe there's a basic step in-between there that I'm missing?

It's a paid STL so I can't post it, but I attached a picture. I'm trying to make the interior walls flat and remove the floor completely.

Oh boy that's a doozy. Each face may require a different tool. Gonna be a lot of work with:

Select and discard then inspector

Select and 'Erase and fill' (flat remeshed)

Select and smooth (per group membrane)

Or maybe im misunderstanding you. If that only want the 'outside/exterior' walls, then maybe just delete everything, then 'Offset'

I want the interior walls to be flat and the floor to just be gone. But from what you outlined, it seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth. I'll probably just use a brush to smooth out the interior walls and then remesh the bottom surface with more triangles to delete the bulk of the floor and figure out how to seal it back up.

Thanks.

Yep. Tip: after deleting a bunch of stuff use bridge to get the seal started at some corners
