    <description>&lt;P&gt;In this case MakeSolid's hole filling creates a selfintersection.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You'll need to do it another way:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Option 1 (If you want to get a flat base):&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;Go to SELECT&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&amp;gt; Modify: SelectAll (Ctrl+A)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&amp;gt; Edit:Extrude and set EndType to Flat. Set Offset to some negative value so the planar surface is below.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Option 2 (If you want some wall thickness parallel to the source):&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;Go to SELECT&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&amp;gt; Modify: SelectAll (Ctrl+A)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;&amp;gt; Edit:Offset and set Distance to the desired thickness (a negative value too). Make sure Connected is checked.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Unable to make this mesh  solid</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have scanned the original mesh below . I want to fill in the back to be able to print it .
