How to build a "Wall" around a ground plate ?

Hello to All,

i would like to 3D Print a suction for my CNC Milling machine.

For the sealing brush i want to print a basic plate, thickness 5mm, with a thin wall outside around it.

(Wall : about 1 mm thick, height 40mm.)

The basic plate is already finished (see attachement).

But but how to create the "wall" around ?

Going to involve an extrude, then an offset. Can you draw a pic of how to want the wall to look, or even roughly place a few primitive pieces in, then take another screen shot

Hello Andrew,

i was attaching a picture where i draw the "wall".

Sorry for the style. This is not my best skill 🙂

I want to build a thin wall upside and around the ground plate.

This should be printed in 1mm Polypropylen.

After finish the print i want to cut this wall into small stripes so it will become a flexible "brush" for the exhausting.

The hole that you see on the ground plate will become the interface for the exhausting tube.

Imagine the picture bottom <> up so the wall / brush will touch at the end the ground plate of the milling machine. The tube is up.

I attached also a picture ot the existing exhaustor brush which dont't work properly so i want to build my own so you can better imagine what i mean.

Select the perimeter>smooth boundary>extrude.

This may be difficult to get exactly 1mm because your shape is pretty wavy and organic. There are a couple of other complicated ways to do it more accurately using offsets and booleans etc, but I don't think that's needed here. Truthfully I wouldn't even print this, I'd just glue a brush on with a glue gun.
