Removing Brackets from Models

Hi, I've been having some trouble with removing brackets from models that have been scanned if anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate some help. Nothing that I have done this far has worked for me.

Just select them and delete.

When I select a bracket with the brush and click edit and erase and fill and then accept it does absolutely nothing to my model and if I just discard the bracket it leaves a void I can not fill.

'Erase and fill' fails sometimes.

Try Analysis>Inspector after deleting the bracket.
