topic Render Sequence No Color Managment Applied (Using Aces) in Maya Shading, Lighting and Rendering Forum

Hi,

I've been battling with this one for days now, I'm using Maya 2020 and Arnold as my renderer, and my problem is that the render preview that i get doesn't have the same color values that the file (TIFF) that is produced during a Render Sequence it is either brighter or darker. I can save the color managed image if I only render 1 at a time but that not efficient.

I will attach my color managment and render settings, because I've changed the Output Transform and it did'nt work, i tried doing it and turning off the view transform in the Render View but still no match with my render preview.

Finally i read this from the Render Color Managed Scenes from the Autodesk page: "Do not apply an output transform if you are rendering final images for compositing or other tasks that require scene-linear color values." This made me think about the fact that i am using Aces as a Rendering Space.

I don't know what to do, so i would really appreciate any feedback

Hey !

I had exactly the same problem than you. The only way I've found to have all my sequence in Aces is to put it in Nuke and use an OCIO Color Management node.

But in fact, if there is a way to set the output directly in maya, i'm interested to know too.
