topic Viewport 2.0 Hi Res rendering crashes in Maya Shading, Lighting and Rendering Forum

I'm trying to render out a large image for print. It needs to be 300dpi and 8000x4500 pixels.

Is this possible to render with Viewport 2.0? I keep crashing.

A very old google result claimed that using Batch Render was the only way to avoid a crash. But Batch Render doesn't seem to work with Viewport 2.0. I've tried Render Sequence, but that will pop up a render view window which stays dark blue and doesn't produce anything.

Is there a way to render very large images for print via Viewport 2.0?

Hi!

This is possible, but be aware that the RAM and max. Texture resolution of your GPU will be the limiting factor. Also keep in mind that Multisample AA will "virtually" increase the rendered image resolution and your GPU may not be able to handle this anymore.
