Hi,

This is a Windows and file system / storage issue not really related to Maya modules. Maya does not have a mechanism to solve this, its up to the user to do a local copy / cache of DSO-s. Its a pain from a deployment point of view, most studios have some kind of a versioning system in place to get around this.

Cheers,

Szabolcs

Hello,

I have a question about the module/plugin development for maya.

I am a developer at a CG company. We are actively developing modules, which are then used on workstations.

According to the API Documentation the modules can be placed on a shared network storage. But the plugins (probably the mll files) are locked by the workstations, so they cannot be updated.

We have a workaround, all of the code base is copied to ws's, so a Maya close, module update, Maya start solves the problem.

What is the correct workflow for this?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel
