insert edge loop tool, for caps?

Hi as a title there is any way to use that tool or any other similar way to do so, for inserting more caps in a circular plane?

From this to this (for example)

I usually use the bidimensional extrude command to do so, but often I get some weird geometry to the model, so.. (like this)

It’s just easier to use a cylinder, you have all the controls u need in the channel box and inputs.

Also you can’t use that tool over triangles unless you extrude with offset.
