How to delete a boolean operation?

I create a cube. Then I create another cube and I use Mesh > Booleans > Difference on the first cube. Then I perform some operations and eventually change my mind - I don't want the boolean anymore. I can go to the Channel Box, select something in Inputs and use Edit > Delete node to remove the operation - but it doesn't work with booleans for some reason. When I delete a boolean node, nothing happens. How do I remove a boolean?

Hi!

As long as the history is active and you delete a Boolean node that is required for the current object, there must something happen.

Please add more details (screenshots, scene-file and the steps how to reproduce this).

So I have this setup. There is nothing else in the scene, it's a clean file.

I use boolean difference and the result is just as expected.

But here is what happens when I delete the boolean node. Nothing happens.

When I delete the operands (pCube1 and pCube2) without deleting the boolean node in pCube3 - the boolean result mesh disappears.

What I want is a way to get back to step 1: when I have two separate cubes again and no boolean.

Hi!

Sorry, you are right, not sure what i did yesterday.

If you delete only the Boolean node it's like a history delete on the new mesh which keeps it intact.

The original objects are still in the scene, but hidden.

Just check the Object Display settings in Attribute Editor.

(I also recommend to use the Outliner or Node Editor for selection.)

So it's not possible to delete the boolean operation itself. I have to move the operands away, then delete the bool node, then delete the operands.

- It is, but this affects only the new created object and has no effect on the original objects.

Keep in mind that a boolean operation does not change the original objects, it creates a new one.
