    <description>&lt;P&gt;01. select the mesh with the messed up normals&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;02. go to Mesh display &amp;gt; set to Face options&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;03. in the "set to face Normal options" window select "unlock vertex face normals"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;04. then click set to face and the mesh normals now will be corrected to face.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Sculpt tools mess up normals in Maya 2020</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When I use the sculpting brush, say the Grab tool, and start moving the mesh around the normals "break" and get distorted until I 'Soften Normals'.&amp;nbsp; Even if I do that it still happens when I use the tools again. Is there a setting I'm missing? I tried to 'Unlock Normals' but that doesn't fix the problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thoughts? Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Please report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.&lt;BR /&gt;In Maya main menu:&lt;BR /&gt;Help -&amp;gt; Speak Back -&amp;gt; Report a Problem&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This seems to be happening with meshes that are not only based on quads&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you test this with a simple oily sphere, also faces can be deleted by this tool.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the same problem. Some meshes work, some don't.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But in 2019 it works with all meshes!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There are only quads in the meshes I tested, so there must be another reason for that.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;me again;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I looked a bit closer at my mehs and it seems there are not only quads but it should work despite of that as it works in maya LT 2019!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
