Hi!

This does not work.

You need a border edge at the center for symmetry in this case.

Without symmetry you can also use Insert Edge Loop tool with "Multiple edge loops" enabled.

hello there, thanks for replying

i know putting an edge in the middle would help but it wont fix the main issue, because im used to do it without putting middle edges, i have the same problem even with cubes like in this video. its a bug that appeared in maya 2018 as far as i remember, got fixed but i dont know why its doing it again in maya 2020.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfH8tBgNMEI

Hey there,

I asked on discord long time ago and i was told it should have an edge in the middle to work tho i used to do it without an edge before that

The thing is that multi-cut tool works fine when each edge it affects is divided just once. Therefore the middle edge is a must for the symmetry option.
I doubt it ever worked otherwise, even in the early Maya versions.
