Won't work because you should FLIP one of the UNFOLDED halves, and sew the original and the flip together.

And you could avoid all this mouse gymnastics if you have tried Symmetrize on the original head, which had symmetrical UVs already.

So basically, I'm a student I have this character head that I was fixing so that it can be rigged. So I found out that the character head was not symmetrical, so what I did is I cut half of the head and fixed the other half, after that, I used the fixed half of the head to mirror and merge it into one complete head. But now the Uv is all messed up it's not perfect symmetrical there are some weird things going on. Before you say anything , I did unfold them and did the same cutBoth the same cut, I didThis is the fixed oneThis is the old model with non symmetrical head

Why do you need the symmetry so much? Have you tried the Modeling>EditMesh>Symmetrize on the inital model?

Unfold won't do this symmetrically. Besides, if there were any textures for that mesh, those after Unfold became unusable.

Doing the long way you did, what should have you done, was:

1. cutting in the head in half;

2. mirroring remaining half and merging the seam -> in uvEd you'd have two identical, overlapping head uv shells;

3. flipping the duplicate shell (selecting might be tricky), then freezing the original shell and MoveAndSew both shells together -> symmetrical uvs at more or less original position;

4. Edit>DeleteByType>History.

Noo even though if I flip my UV it won't work, when I unfold it the duplicated one become weird like in the picture
