My edges won't connect?

Hey!

I'm new to all of this Maya stuff and I have a homework i have to give in. I'm making a mouse, but there's a little problem.

when i double click the aligned edges to select all the edges in that row, it seems like it doesn't want to select the one's in the front?

same for the back side.

sorry if my diction isn't too great, I don't know all the Maya terms yet lol but the help is appreciated!

Sorry, it isn't clear what do you have and what have you done.

Double-LMB edge selection terminates where edge loop branches, which is seen in your screenshots. Shift + double-LMB is to add another edge loop.

If you can't seem to select anyway, go Edit>DeleteByType>History. Try selecting again.

If still not working, post zipped MA file with that geo.

hi @wing4ngel ,

Maya understands rows as you described it until it hits the end of the model or a vertex it cannot decide where to continue.

If you look on your screenshot, for you it seems logical for maya to continue selection horizontally. From the programs view though it would be valid too continuing the selection in the vertical direction (to the bottom).

So in general, when doubleclicking to get a row-selection, Maya will always stop the selection at vertices with other then 4 edges connected.
