Creating a miniature golf golf course / Combining two Objects / Creating a Border

Hello all,

I have a question regarding the combination of objects.
I want to create a miniature golf course, like in picture 1. That is: two large circular areas (one for the tee, the other for the hole). I first created a disc, selected the right vertices and moved them to the right for the course. Then I created a second disc, moved it to the right and combined both surfaces. The problem is that both surfaces do not behave as a single object because one object wedges into the other and the vertices are still there. How can I delete those or make a single object out of both? I would like to create a border around the course like in picture 1 and I think I would have to create a single object first and then extrude the border.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

Sometimes Maya doesn't delete border edges, when the faces next to them are deleted. To delete those edges, change into face mode and marquee select over the edge that is still there. You can make two meshes into one by using the Mesh->Combine command.

However, the geometry in your second disc looks rather messed up, you'd probably be better off doing this again. I attached a short video on how I would approach this.

I hope it helps!

Thank you Kahylan,
I had already read about the bridge function, but did not know that works with the edges. Thanks for your effort with the video & lieben Gruß in die Schweiz!

@hamsterHamster,
thanks for your advice, I will work on it some more and work through the forum. But I really needed some advice because I was going crazy on it.
