Concave faces, not sure how to fix

Hi, Im a bit new to Maya, I only recently started taking classes to learn. Im making a custom rim for a tire, and im trying to punch in some holes, however it keeps being flagged as concave, and im not sure what to do.

Whats the Probelm with a concave face? Its impossible to model without them.

Well im supposed to minimize how much problem geometry i have, at least thats what the school tells me. if its impossible to fix then thats fine.

thats just a part of the modeling process, just remember to clean you ngons

after the bolean
