Maya 2016: Interactive loop selection no longer works if in Drag selection mode?

You know how, if you are in Faces component mode, and you select a face, then SHIFT+DOUBLECLICK on an adjacent one, you can select a loop? Or if you select a face, then SHIFT+DOUBLECLICK on another face on a loop but not adjacent, it should select it and the faces in between...

In 2016, this works fine if in Marquee select mode, but not at all if in Drag select mode. Was this change intentional, or is it a bug? I think it should work either way...

What's Drag select mode? Do you mean Object select mode?

no he´s talking about this setting i guess:

and yes any kind of loop selections don´t work if drag style is enabled. don´t use this mode often but now that i try it worked in 2014 but already in 2015 it´s broken!

A workaround would be to use the normal selection mode (marquee enabled - which does work for loop selection) and hold down the tab key when you want to drag-select.

Yeah, I think the way to use component selection now is to just leave Marquee select ON and TAB to override for Drag selection. Interactive loop and edge ring selection is working well with Marquee select. I only brought it because it is a change in behavior from prior versions, and that may or may not have been intended...
