Is it possible to connect .fbx copies to its original file ?

Scenario:
I have a big scene with lets say 500 objects, a big part of these objects, lets say about 200, are made as copies from 1 or 2 .fbx files, wich i imported to the scene.

Now i want to change something, is it possible to make these changes at the original .fbx and then reimport it to the big scene in a way that the changed .fbx will replace all the copies ?

Greets from Germany
Jan
