topic Re: I've somehow created an extra set of UV's for the same model? in Maya Modeling Forum

I did recreate them in Maya. I tried deleting all the UV's and starting again but it still gives me two sets of UV's. When I delete one of these, it gives me problems in Zbrush. It's very annoying and I can't find a workaround. Thanks though.

Hello, I've been trying to resolve an issue I've had in zbrush.
After I export it to Maya, create UV's and import it back to Zbrush, I click 'New texture from UV's' and the model goes black, or another block colour no matter what texture I apply.
I gave up trying to fix it and started the UV's again from scratch. I cut out all my UV edges and when I clicked 'Unfold' It showed me all the parts I'd UV'd which is what I wanted. However it also showed me a whole un-cut UV version of the model. If I select this and 'delete UV's' I get the problem inside Zbrush.
Please can somebody help me? Thank you.

Edit: If I delete UV's, and create new UV's, it automatically gives me two layers of UV's, one on top of the other. I don't understand why and it's causing me problems later in ZB.

Is there a check box to keep original UV's?

You should delete them all and recreate them in Maya. I don't use Zbrush...so I don't know what you're doing in there.

Does zbrush create them automatically? If not then don't create them in zbrush and do it in maya.
