Multi cut tool -planar - Used to cut selected faces

The old planar cut tool allowed the user to only cut a selection of faces the new Multi cut version appears to cut the entire mesh. Is there a way to enable the old functionality to cut individual faces

If you're not holding down the control key, it should be cutting individual faces. Note the keyboard shortcuts for use with the multi-cut tool.

Has anyone else managed to get multi cut tool to planar cut only the selected faces?

I know the tool allows for a draw cut on selected faces I want the planar cut with the funky (useful) manipulator handles.

Select the faces you want to slice.
Activate the multi-cut tool.
Click on either side of the mesh to define the "plane" line.
Hit "Enter" or right-click in the viewport away from the mesh.

Thanks for the reply, I know that.

Im looking to see if its possible to have the same functionality that the old maya planar cut tool provided, I.e being able to adjust the manipulator handles etc afterwards.

Im guessing its not, such a shame though as it was really useful.

I've never heard of a "planar cut tool" in Maya. Which version had it?

Ahhh...I see what you mean now. (I tried it in 2015, and you're right...it did only slice the selected faces.) Thanks for the clarification. You may want to enter a small annoying things to fix.
