How do I delete a cube?

I placed a cube, then selected it, then pressed delete, but it is still there.

How do I properly delete it? I can do CTRL+Z to undo the creation, but I'd like to learn how to delete it without having to undo all my prior work.

should work like this. make sure you are in object and not in component mode.

Hi!

There is a bug in Maya 2017 (and udpate1) that sometimes prevents from deleting with the delete-key in Viewport and Outliner.

Workarounds:

A) Windows -> Workspaces -> Reset ... to Factory Default (This works for most Workspaces, but not all)

B) Change the Workspace

C) Save Scene, Exit Maya, Re-Start Maya and Open Scene

temporary solutions (do no not reset the delete-key behavior):

D) In Main Menu: Edit -> Delete

E) Middle-Mouse-Click in the Viewport before hitting the delete-key
