You may create a new Idea for Maya:

Help -> Speak Back -> Ideas for Maya

I would welcome such a mode too.

Hi,

There are multiply ways. Here are just two.

I would recommend the connect Tool or the multicut tool.

The multi cut tool will be less accurate than the connect tool but a bit quicker depending on what you're doing.

You can also select and edge>CTRL + right click and hold>EDGE Ring Utilties>to Edge Ring and Split. This will give you a perfect edge down the centre of two edges.

Hi!

The Bevel tool in Maya doesn't have such a mode, there is no 1-click solution inside Maya.

thank you for replaying, but the purpose of bevel tool is to not doing this type of work with cut tools. it is a one of the fundamentals tools in modeling and needs to be working as it should. autodesk emplemented chamfer bevel and it doesnt solve it purpose. it's still works in every over autodesk 3d application. why not in maya then? (sad face)
